Donor Advised Funds
If you have a donor advised fund (DAF) for charitable purposes held by a financial company, consider a grant to Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic School.

You can donate your securities and mutual funds that have appreciated to Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic School.  The value of the securities and mutual funds donated is the value on that date.  You will get a tax deduction for the full value or a reduced amount.  There is no need to calculate capital gains as when you do when you sell a security (price sold minus price paid) and report them in your tax return.  (Please contact a tax accountant for full details).
