Please consider joining others who have supported our students with tuition assistance. A NEW, fast and easy way to do so is through the PA Tax Credit Program.
Example
Donate $1000 to EITC.
Specify you want the donation to be directed to Holy Redeemer School.
You can deduct $900 (90%) from your PA Income Tax.
The full $1000 is sent to Holy Redeemer School
(See following for full details).
Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)
Tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to a Scholarship Organization, an Educational Improvement Organization, and/or a Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization.
Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program (OSTC)
The program provides tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to an Opportunity Scholarship Organization. Business contributions are then used by Opportunity Scholarship Organizations to provide tuition assistance in the form of scholarships to eligible students residing within the boundaries of a low-achieving school to attend another public school outside of their district or nonpublic school. A low-achieving school is defined as a public elementary or secondary school ranking in the bottom 15 percent of their designation as an elementary or secondary school based upon combined math and reading Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) scores.
Special Purpose Entity (SPE)
The PA tax credit program is no longer limited to businesses. Now INDIVIDUAL taxpayers can designate PERSONAL state taxes by joining a Special Purpose Entity (SPE).
Direct your PERSONAL Pennsylvania tax dollars to students attending Holy Redeemer School….YOU can make a difference in the life of one of our students. Pennsylvania has made it possible for interested parties to join an SPE which applies for tax credits on behalf of its members to offset their personal PA income.
Since 2020, Holy Redeemer has received over $20,000 in scholarship money thanks to the generous support of parishioners who participated in the EITC program at Foundation of Catholic Education. These parishioners in turn received $18,000 in credits to their PA State Income Tax returns for the tax years 2020 through 2022.
It is easy to redirect your state tax dollars to provide financial aid to Holy Redeemer School families:
Step 1: Fill out the 1-page form to enroll in the EITC program through the Foundation for Catholic Education
Specify Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic School.
Mail the form to the organization.
Step 2. They will contact you to send the donation.
Step 3. You will receive a Schedule K-1 tax form the following year for your tax return.
Step 4. Add the information to your tax return to receive your tax credit.
With a 2 year pledge to the EITC program, you will receive 90% of your donation back as a tax credit.
For example, a $1000 donation turns into a $900 tax credit on your tax return.
The full $1000 is sent to Holy Redeemer School in the summer in time for the next school year to help families.
